Introducing the collaboration between shapewear brand, Skims and Swarovski, fashion mogul and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian stated simply: “the world needs more glamour.” There can be no doubt that the Swarovski X Skims collection envisages a fashion world saturated with mesmerizing gems and figure-hugging body wear.
The collaboration, which was released on November 7, sold out within minutes. Debuted in the collection were takes on Skims famous shapewear pieces, such as the viral Cami Long Dress, Cotton Rib Bralette and Boxer sets. Designed to elevate loungewear, the collection is considered to combine ‘‘the creativity of Swarovski, and innovation of SKIMS” to create garments that are “empowering everybody to shine like an icon.”
Swarovski is a trailblazer in crafting jewels with “mesmerizing brilliance”, and their version of shapewear is a prove of it. The collection urges the wearer to “radiate confidence through every crystal”. In true Skims style, the collection is designed to fit every shape, featuring “size-inclusive body and belly chains.”
Highlights of the collection include the dramatic Stretch Knit collection, described by Skims as “Sexy, open-knit dresses, bodysuits, and skirts weaved with hundreds of Swarovski crystals”. The Swarovski X Skims collection can be purchased in an array of daring shades, from silver, gold to bubble gum pink. Additional layering can be achieved by the addition of “shimmering Swarovski body jewelry and the exquisite Matrix, Millenia and Mesmera jewelry families”.
SKIMS has been at the forefront of the shapewear industry since its inception, promoting a body-positive and inclusive approach throughout its different partnerships, including Fendi, the NBA, among others. The Swarovski x Skims collaboration has placed confidence, glamour, and comfort as a motto, meaning another successful Kardashian venture.
