LANCÔME X LOUVRE: THE DIVINE ART OF COLLABORATION

A new collaboration between French beauty powerhouse, Lancôme, and the iconic Musée du Louvre pays homage to celebrated sculptures. Inspired by nine historic art pieces, Lancôme’s romantic collection oozes classical charm that transports the beauty landscape across time.

The campaign images see Lancôme faces Zendaya, Aya Nakamura, Amanda Seyfried and He Cong as divinities, manifested through the imagery of the Louvre’s masterpieces; Aphrodite, Diana of Gabies, The Venus of Milo, and Corine. The collaboration with these icons, redefine what true beauty and craftsmanship mean, with modern fashion and classical art joining forces to display a divine sense of luxury.

President-Director of the Louvre Museum, Laurence des Cars, explained:“The Musée du Louvre collections are surprising and captivating in their ability to provide a reading and an understanding of how these canons transform, how they can be interpreted, and how they evolve. With this collaboration, the Louvre as a modern-day artistic space is contributing to the rewriting of beauty in the present.”

The products, developed by Lisa Eldridge, Global Creative Director of Lancôme Makeup, are inspired by the history surrounding the sculptures, as well as the skill and time required to develop such icons of beauty and art. The Louvre Limited Edition Collection takes iconic Lancôme products, such as the L’Absolu Rouge Drama Matte, and envelops each product in the grandeur of gallery walls and sculptures. The collection, inside and out, pursues a form of artistry that encapsulates both contemporary and mythical beauty.

‘At Lancôme, beauty is art in motion; beauty itself, as a personal ritual, is a means of expressing and distinguishing oneself, through constantly evolving codes – or no codes, to be honest.” said Françoise Lehmann, Lancôme Global Brand President.

Lehmann continued, “By pursuing the dialogue between our French brand with a history spanning some 90 years and the most iconic temple of art, we want to continue to draw on our artistic heritage to open new beauty horizons for women today and celebrate the fact that beauty is in perpetual motion.”

The essence of Louvre X Lancôme, then, not only strives to empower, but to embody the creative and ever-evolving concepts of beauty.
