To celebrate 45 years of the Maison, Elie Saab’s exceptional runway presented 300 looks and closed with a breathtaking surprise performance by Celine Dion.
In time for the Riyadh Season Festival, the Maison presented an extravaganza of a fashion show titled 1001 Seasons of Elie Saab in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Elie Saab, together with his son Elie Saab JR, left no doubts on his legacy in the industry of Haute Couture. Each one-of-a-kind gown walked down the stage, in a dazzling expression of the beauty and power of femininity.
Sandy neutrals were emphasized with rich gold details that shone irresistibly bright under the spotlights. Blushed pink gowns erupted with dramatic, yet delicate, flowers while sequins twinkled on airy blue dresses like waves under a breeze. Black dresses brought a graceful edge and drama, radiating with magnetism like the women wearing them. Throughout the show, dresses with elongating silhouettes contoured around the waist and focused on movement and fluidity. Opera gloves and spectacular feathered headpieces styled the dresses to perfection.
The night was one to remember, closed by a spectacular performance by Celine Dion, who rarely performs due to her autoimmune neurological disease ‘Stiff Person Syndrome’. Only a few months after her last performance for the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, she graced the stage again for Elie Saab, braving her muscle stiffness and spasms for a magnificent performance to the dress maker she has been loyal to throughout her career. She sang Power of Love and a new song from I’m Alive in a long dress with a glamorous veiled sequin cape.
Each woman on the stage was a sight of perfection. Camila Cabello gave a mesmerizing performance of her hit songs Señorita and Havana in a pink minidress with an asymmetrical train and Jennifer Lopez electrified the stage in a gold fringed bodysuit with songs On the Floorand Let’s Get Loud. Arab stars Nancy Ajram and Amr Diab also dazzled and serenaded the audience. The icons Adriana Lima, Jourdan Dunn, Amelia Gray, Carine Roitfeld, Candice Swanepoel, and Stella Maxwell were amongst the models and Halle Berry brought her 2002 Oscars Look onto the stage.
The night was an exceptional celebration for 45 years of the Maison, an unforgettable night for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the whole world. Every dress, every look brought the kind of magic only achieved by Elie Saab.
